Description
III Mixed media on wood panel 400 mm diameter
I’m a contemporary artist based in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. I create metaphorical abstractions inspired by the richness of human experience. My artworks are a confluence of art and the psyche, reflecting my academic background in Psychology and work experience in Neurotherapy. Thus, my artistic process is not only about ‘creating’ but also ‘healing’. It is my mission to represent the science of healing people in the field of arts. My Kintsugi-inspired pieces exemplify this exploration. It is a metaphor for the idea that broken things, can be made even more beautiful through their mending, teaching us to embrace the scars and imperfections in life. It is the philosophy that we all need to embrace the story of our own transformation, reconnection, imperfection, healing, brokenness, forgiveness, and transcendence.
