Donation made to Visionwest by Artist $10.00 For the first 3 years of my schooling, I processed words in perfect mirror image. I wrote fluently back-to-front and from right to left. My experience as a child has meant the concept of symmetry has always intrigued me, and it has greatly influenced my art. Like most, I made Rorschach inspired pictures as a kid and returned to the practise as an adult as a way of stimulating my imagination. When I was diagnosed with the condition Fibromyalgia, I felt I was losing my creative outlook on life, and I turned to Rorschach as a way to begin playing creatively again. I have worked hard to refine this process through many experimental techniques and have found the combination of painting, photography and digitising the background colour to be the perfect way to elevate my practice. With a background in fashion and textiles, playing with juicy, glossy textures and bold, clashing and harmonious colours is such an enjoyable, mindful practise and visual feast for the imagination. These works reflect the duality of the creative and logical mind, and the individual experience of finding meaning in art. My art is designed with a fundamental desire to help stimulate imagination in others so I use Instagram (@whatdoyousee.eesoduoytahw) as a platform to encourage this conversation – for this reason artworks are numbered, not named and can be found in chronological order. Prints are stamped for authenticity along with what I personally see handwritten on the back. As a nod to the artwork I create, and to promote well-being in others, a portion of all artwork sold is donated to Visionwest Counselling services to subsidise sessions for those in need.
