Owie is an expresssive painter, lover of colour texture and line. She works in series which allows her to move from abstract to part realism depending on what she’s working on. Her paintings are full of texture and colour with brush marks full of energy. Lush paint is intersected with strong singular marks and if you look closely you can see more in the loud and quiet conversation of the work. ‘In My Mother’s Garden’ is a series of paintings dedicated to her Mother, who passed during the covid time 2020. Her Mother’s garden was a riot of colour and patterns. Always a joy to encounter when coming home. Her garden was how she expressed her creativity. She loved colour, texture and patterns. This series is a dedication to all gardeners and especially Mothers.
