As a woodcut printer, my work captures the vast skyscapes, the movement of water, and the contours of the land, in the environments that surround us. Each piece is a tribute to the natural beauty that we are privileged to experience. By combining monoprinting, collagraphs, and woodcut printing, I aim to convey the ever-changing interplay of light, texture, and form. Monoprinting allows me to capture the fleeting colours and subtle variations of light that dance across the sky and water. Through collagraphs, I add texture and depth, creating a tactile representation of the landscape. By carving into wood, woodcut printing captures the bold contours and defining lines of the landscape, emphasising the enduring and timeless aspects of our environment. My intention with these woodcut prints are to remind people of the incredible beauty that surrounds us, to provoke cherished memories of places we’ve visited, and to inspire a sense of responsibility to protect these environments for generations to come.
